Quesadillas at Imperial Palace – Cheese Enchiladas

Yelpers gave this restaurant scathing reviews.  Alicia and I really wanted Mexican food quite badly, and we didn’t want to pay out of the @$$ for it.  So we opted for going to “Quesadilla’s” at the Imperial Palace.  (It may be Quesadilla.  But I’m going to leave it as Quesadilla’s.) Armed with the negative reviews […]

Review: LA Gourmet Pizza

LA Gourmet Pizza – Probably one of the most overlooked pizzas in Dallas. LA Gourmet Pizza is a very unique pizza joint, that I frequent.  I always get either a pepperoni pizza or the primo pepperoni pizza. The pizza is thin crust, but certainly has a just-sweet-enough sauce and has a good body to it. […]

Review: Picasso’s

Picasso’s – Picasso’s is either my first or second pizza joint in Dallas.  I’m not sure which.  (LA Gourmet is the other).  And I like them both for completely different reasons.  They’re both unusual in their own way–their pizzas have special features that are purely unique to them. Picasso’s is notable for the quality of […]

LA Gourmet Pepperoni Pizza

LA Gourmet is probably one of my favorite Pizzas in Dallas.  (Picasso’s is right next to it.  Those are my top two.) I brought Alicia (my fiancee) some Pizza while she was at work last night.  This is our standard pizza–an XL “takeout special” (two topping) with pepperoni and extra cheese.  I also order extra […]

Review: Portillo’s Hot Dogs

Portillo’s Hot Dogs – Portillo’s is arguably the “flagship” chain for THE Chicago Hot Dog and THE Italian Beef Sandwich. There are hundreds and hundreds of non-franchised hot dog joints in Chicago that are like Portillo’s.  As a result, tike any other “chain” I’ve heard of Portillo’s being criticized because they are one.  This doesn’t […]

JR’s Grill

Chili with homemade onion rings was quite good, though I couldn’t finish the bowl of Chili.  The onion rings were probably the highlight of the meal, which I ate with some ranch sauce, and some ketchup.  (I used more ketchup than ranch.)  I had an iced tea to drink that really hit the spot.
